If you didn\u2019t know, Movember<\/a> is when people are encouraged to put down the razor and let that facial fuzz grow to raise global awareness for men\u2019s health and mental health.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s become a hilarious talking point across homes, schools, universities, and workplaces, it\u2019s important not to remember why the movement started and the incredible work it\u2019s in aid of.<\/p>\n

Why Movember?<\/h3>\n

Movembe<\/a>r is an annual event to raise awareness of three core men’s health issues:<\/p>\n

  2. Testicular cancer<\/li>\n
  3. Men’s suicide<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    According to reports<\/a> from the campaign, men are dying six years earlier than women from preventable and curable illnesses. Movember aims to increase awareness of the importance of early cancer detection, diagnosis, and effective treatments and ultimately reduce the number of avoidable deaths.<\/p>\n

    Besides annual check-ups, it encourages men to be aware of their family history of cancer, speak out about their mental health, and adopt a healthier lifestyle.<\/p>\n
